Tokyo GhoulSäsong 2,Rot A:
TLDR:Kaneki försöker bli starkare och kannibalisera andra ghouls tills han tappar kontakten med sin mänsklighet. I slutändan är han överlämnad till Arima – CCG:s skördare.
Berättelsen på djupet, enligtmanga:
Kaneki lämnar kaféet/ghoul safehouse (Anteiku) för att bilda sin egen grupp med ghouls. Deras mål är att förstöra ghoulorganisationen, Aogiri Tree, och avslöja fler detaljer om incidenten som gjorde Kaneki till en ghoul. CCG delar liknande mål, vilket leder till en uppgörelse i ett underjordiskt laboratorium där Kaneki får veta att Rize – hans ghoul organdonator – fortfarande lever. Men en medlem av Anteiku tar bort Rize.
Senare får CCG veta att den legendariska enögda ugglan driver Anteiku, och de inleder en attack. (Faktiskt inser CCG att det finns två ugglor. Publiken har ingen aning om hur han överlevde eller varför han är en utredare.)
Kanekis mentala tillstånd i slutet:Kaneki blockerar Hides grymma öde från hans sinne och förlorar det direkt när Arima sticker honom i hjärnan och hamnar i en intern diskussion med hans barndomsjag. I den här diskussionen inser han att hans syfte med att bli starkare aldrig handlade om att skydda andra, utan istället var det tänkt att hindra hans vänner från att dö så att han inte skulle vara ensam. Han ser detta som feghet och känner att han gjorde sitt yngre jag besviken, som verkligen ville hjälpa andra.

Tokyo Ghoul:reDel 1:
TLDR:Hans minnen utplånade, Kaneki går under namnet "Haise Sasaki", arbetar för CCG och svarar för Arima. När Haise tränar en grupp människor med ghoul-liknande förmågor, återfår han sakta sina minnen.
Berättelsen, på djupet:Två år efter händelserna iTokyo Ghoul, arbetar en ung man vid namn Haise Sasaki som utredare i CCG. Haise lider av minnesförlust och är i själva verket Ken Kaneki, som antogs till CCG och utbildades till utredare av skördemannen, Arima. Haise har till uppgift att utveckla en utredare som kan överträffa Arimas skicklighetsnivå, och därför har han tagit ansvar för Quinx (Q) Squad – ett nytt experimentellt team av människor med ghoul-förmågor.
De olika personligheterna i Q-truppen ger Haise en chans att få pengarna, och eftersom han kämpar för att hålla laget fungerande, kämpar Haise också för att hålla ordning på sitt eget mentala välbefinnande. Varje strid ger fler och fler av Kanekis minnen tillbaka, som när hans team misslyckas med att fånga seriemördaren Torso, då igen, när de plundrar ett människoauktionshus.
Under auktionsraiden konfronterar Haise någon som heter Takizawa. Detta var en av CCG-utredarna som försvann i tjänsten i slutet avRot A, och publiken inser nu att han har förvandlats till en halv-ghoul. Aogiri Tree ger honom smeknamnet "Owl", och han övermannar Haise, vilket gör att Haise litar på Kanekis styrka.
Haise dras också till sitt förflutna av andarna som en gång var vänner med Kaneki. Där är den vackra flickan på caféet,:re, som publiken känner igen som Touka. Sedan finns det Hinami, den lilla ghoul Kaneki räddade i säsong 1, som har bestämt sig för att gå med i Aogiri Tree. Under auktionshusets razzia kliver Hinami in för att rädda Haise, och han ber att CCG ska skona hennes liv. Slutligen finns det gourmetgoulen, Tsukiyama, som längtar efter en smak av den Kaneki han en gång kände.
När gourmeten når ut till Haise upptäcker CCG att Tsukiyamas hushåll är en rik ghoulfamilj med inflytande i många branscher. CCG inleder en attack, och under slagsmålet dödas Haise nästan av en av Tsukiyamas tjänare. Detta får Kanekis minnen att återvända helt, hans hår blir helt svart. Sedan kommer den enögda ugglan (Eto) och Kaneki konsumerar en del av sin Kagune för att få ström.
Vad du kanske har missat:I mangan står det att fysisk skada gör att en ghoul blir starkare, eftersom såren läkts med Rc-celler. Detta kan hjälpa till att förklara kraftskalningen hos ghouls, och varför Kaneki, som blir slagen och torterad många gånger, har blivit så stark.
Kanekis mentala tillstånd i slutet:Haise Sasaki fruktar att hans lyckliga liv kommer att ta slut när han kommer ihåg Ken Kaneki. Under Tsukiyama-razzian för han en intern dialog med Kaneki, som minns att han blev misshandlad som barn och erkänner att han önskat att han hade dött tillbaka när han först slogs mot skördemannen Arima.
Efter att ha överlevt det mötet vill Kaneki nu hjälpa andra innan han dör igen, och för att göra det måste han ge upp drömmen om att vara Haise. Med sina minnen återställda utstrålar Kaneki en brutalitet som hjälper honom att överleva, men också en ömhet mot ghouls – som man ser när han låter Tsukiyama fly.
Tokyo Ghoul:reDel 2:
TLDR:Ken Kaneki avslöjar mysterierna bakom Aogiri Tree och CCG, och bestämmer sin egen väg när han reser sig upp för att möta den enögde kungen - den ryktade ledaren för Aogiri Tree.
Berättelsen på djupet:Sex månader efter Tsukiyama-razzian är Kaneki nu en associerad specialutredare och är känd för sin brutalitet på fältet. Han fångar den berömda författaren Sen Takatuski, som han nu inser är Eto, den enögda ugglan och en ledare för Aogiri Tree. Hon avslöjar för Kaneki att cheferna för CCG är ghouls, och att det finns en hemlig organisation som heter "V" som arbetar bakom kulisserna för att hålla status quo mellan människor och ghouls.
Även om han poserar som Haise i början, befriar Kaneki Hinami från fängelset, vilket bevisar att hans sanna avsikt är att nu hjälpa ghouls. Han gör det väl medveten om att han kommer att behöva möta Arima, och tror att detta är hans sista handling av välvilja. Men under kaoset i fängelset ser Kaneki Touka igen och återupplivar sin vilja att överleva Arimas dödliga attacker. (Hans hår blir nu helt vitt.) Men när Kaneki vägrar ta det sista slaget skär Arima sin egen hals. I sina döende ord förmedlar han sanningen om allt till Kaneki, inklusive identiteten på den enögde kungen. Eto bryter också ut ur fängelset och låter andra ghouls fly, men hon dödas i processen.
Samtidigt inleder CCG en attack mot ön Rushima, Aogiri Trees högkvarter. Där dödas en av ledarna för Aogiri Tree av Takizawa (den tidigare utredaren som blev ghoul). Takizawa går på en mordrunda tills han stoppas av Amon – en annan före detta CCG-utredare som försvann i slutet avRot Aoch förvandlades till en halv-ghoul. Who is the one eyed king? ›
It is known that Arima Kishou was the One Eyed King. He had taken the title because even though he was a half-human (physically human but with the abilities/senses of a ghoul, excluding the kagune). He was stronger than any ghoul, even Eto.
